These past two weeks have been insanity. After last Friday’s cookie night, I jet-setted off to Las Vegas for the week for work and am still slowly recovering from the trip. Las Vegas is not my kind of place. Definitely not the easiest place to eat healthy and workout, but I stuck to my guns. I actually really enjoy working out in different locations. One of my favorite things to do when I’m traveling is to explore the hotel gyms and areas around by doing a quick run, permitting the area I’m in is safe enough. Here are a couple quick fitness on the road tips:
- Don’t underestimate a quick jog or walk around where your staying. This lets you see everything that’s around and get a better idea of your surroundings
- There are tons of workouts you can do in your hotel room. Look up a quick circuit workout or yoga sequence to do with just a little space in your new abode for the week. I find FitSugar has a lot of great ones plus fun fitness articles that are always interesting reads during downtime
- Pack a jumprope. It takes up minimal space and is easy to get a quick workout in while your watching a little TV in your room
These are just a few helpful tips. Probably the best recommendation I can make is where comfortable shoes.
By day three of the conference, my dogs were killing me. I finally opted for gym shoes with my business casual wear and I can’t even tell you the number of compliments I got. Well worth the switch!
Getting back in to the swing of things has been a bit tough, but I’m not letting my fitness falter. Today’s workout consisted of Kayla Itsines’ Week 3 Arms & Abs and a quick run and elliptical cooldown. By the end of my workout, I was really feeling it.
I felt extremely accomplished and am really loving adding the BBG into my workouts for a change of pace. Any questions about the BBG thus far? Let me know!
