Another balmy single digit day over here. Having lived in Texas for the past five years, this winter change is not going well. Whenever it’s over, I won’t be mad. I promise.
Despite the weather, it was still gym day. Today was a cardio day so I hit the treadmill to pump out 3 quick, interval rich miles and then ellipticalled for a bit. Needless to say, after yesterday’s leg day, I can barely move.
I get a huge rush out of running on the treadmill which I know is rare. But I like to do intervals and track them easily and for some reason treadmilling it out is the only way to do it. I have run up to 10 miles consecutively on a treadmill, so I am aware I am crazy.
I love to run for a minute at a comfortable pace and then the next minute a little less comfortable and alternate between the two until I try and sprint it out for the last two minutes. The best way I have found for time to pass on the treadmill is to switch up the speeds periodically and when I get to the sprinting section, I will countdown the ten second intervals until I reach the end. Treadmill runs are all about mental fitness too.

Before I wrap this up, I wanted to give a little insight into the Kayla workout I started yesterday. I have tried many workouts throughout my life and love switching it up. When my two best friends who live across the country asked if I wanted to start her program with them, I was more than up for the challenge.
Yesterday, I started day one of her Bikini Body Guide and it was a killer. I even had my ex-collegiate althlete of a boyfriend try it with me and he was just as impressed as I was with the effectiveness of this workout. I’m proud to say, I kicked his butt in the long run. This is definitely going to be an interesting 12 weeks, so I’ll be sure to keep you updated.
